THE MOMENT EVERYTHING CHANGED
I’ve ridden many miles and learned countless lessons along the way. The bike has a way of teaching you things you never expected—about resilience, humility, and joy. From winning races to losing plenty more than you will ever win, from long days of training to quiet solo rides, the bike became not only my passion and my job, but also my vessel of self-expression and independence. I’ve had life-altering crashes before. In 2010, during a professional race, I was airlifted to the hospital with a traumatic brain injury and a broken pelvis. I fought hard to come back. But as I’ve learned, crashing in training is different. It’s quieter, more personal. It shakes your trust in the open road and your own instincts.

One afternoon while returning home from a training ride two years ago, a truck hit me. The impact was fast, but everything after felt painfully slow. Recovery wasn’t just about healing my body and brain; it was about rebuilding trust, confidence, and peace on the bike. I felt like I’d lost a piece of myself that day—and I wasn’t sure how to find it again.
Because when you ride, awareness isn’t fear. It’s freedom. And I lost that sense of freedom that was the root cause of my love for the bike. I am glad to be finding it again through awareness and security as well as some very patient and loving training partners.

RIDING FORWARD WITH AWARENESS
That’s why the Lezyne Radar React System feels so personal to me. It’s not just technology—it’s trust you can feel in motion.
The Radar Drive Rear light scans up to 150 meters behind, detecting approaching vehicles and sending clear alerts. The React Drive Front light automatically provides visual and audio alerts, and offers up to 1,200 lumens, to match your surroundings. Together, they create a connected system that responds to your environment.

Lightweight, intuitive, and easy to pair through Bluetooth or ANT+, the system connects to the Radar Ally App, where you can customize settings and stay up to date. It’s built for riders who want to focus on what matters: the ride itself.

PEACE OF MIND IN MOTION
On my first ride with the Radar React System, something shifted. The usual hum of a car behind me didn’t spark tension and make me jump with anxiety—it grounded me. The lights pulsed in rhythm with the road, and for the first time in a long while, I wasn’t bracing for something to happen. I was simply there. Present. Confident. Relaxed.
I didn’t panic. I trusted my equipment. I trusted myself.
That’s what this system gives you: not just visibility, but peace of mind. The confidence to stay focused, to keep moving forward, and to ride with awareness instead of worry.

VISIBILITY IS POWER
We ride for so many reasons: freedom, fitness, connection. But above all, we ride because it makes us feel alive.
Visibility isn’t just about being seen—it’s about being acknowledged. Awareness isn’t fear—it’s courage. The courage to stay open to the world around you, even when it’s unpredictable.
For me, riding will always be part of who I am—a reminder to keep finding joy in motion, to explore, to challenge myself, and to be grateful for the road ahead.
Each day on the bike is a gift. Here’s to more light, more awareness, and more rides that remind us how good it feels to keep moving forward.
Trust your instincts. Tune into that cycling sixth sense. It just might save your ride—and maybe even your life. I am looking forward to seeing you on the roads!
